I grew up in a South Indian family, and certain things have always stayed with me: the scent of jasmine in my hair, my sister drawing a maanga on my hand over and over as she practised her mehendi skills, my grandmother weaving flowers together for puja every morning. These were part of everyday life, woven into time with the people I love.
The Ramayana and the Mahabharatam were my bedtime stories. I grew up hearing about Shiva and Parvati, Radha and Krishna, and learning about love, devotion, and the ways we care for one another through their stories. They helped shape my values long before I could have explained what they meant to me.
That connection extends to the art and architecture around us, too: the intricate details of temples, the grandeur of Mughal architecture, and the story of love associated with the Taj Mahal. What stays with me is the care behind it all—the thought given to every detail, and the love and devotion it represents.
The Kanna Collection grew from wanting to bring that cultural connection into engagement rings.
An engagement ring marks the beginning of something deeply personal. I wanted to create designs that bring Indian tradition and contemporary jewellery together, with cultural meaning at the heart of each piece.
Whether we’ve grown up in India or made a home elsewhere, whether we share a background with our partner or bring different cultures together, we all have traditions that mean something to us. This collection offers different ways to express them: through flowers, meaningful motifs, architecture, and stories of devotion.
My hope is that you find something here that speaks to you. A ring that celebrates the love you share and gives the traditions you cherish a place in your future together.
